In the year of 1988, I had an open vision. I saw a round table with people seated there with looks of pain and distress on their faces. They appeared to be desolated, discouraged, and abused. I was standing over them teaching the good news of the gospel and about the love of Jesus Christ. I saw a large warehouse style building. In the vision, people walked into the building through the left side entrance. They appeared to be, homeless, unhappy, dirty, and hopeless. On the right side were people coming out dressed in caps and gowns denoting progress. The Lord spoke. He said, “The spiritually sick, needs a hospital for healing and I am calling you forth, to minister life and wholeness to them.”
The vision began to unfold as the Lord led me to Charleston County Substance Abuse Commission. I started working there as a clerk in their file room. There I embraced the addicted population. As God stirred in me a passion for this population, he then led me to pursue a degree in psychology to work as a counselor in the agency. As I felt the passion grow in me to teach, educate and empower people, God led me to the Holy Spirit School of Ministry for further training and impartation. In 1997, while returning home, from a Holy Ghost Jubilee Conference in San Antonio, Texas, the Lord spoke again. He said, “I am calling you to pastoral care of my people.” In my response to him, I stated, “Father, I don’t know what to do!” He replied, “Walk! And I will reveal!” God then created a job for me to counsel addicted women whose lives had taken on a downward spiral. Many had lost their spouses, their children and their mother and father to drug addiction. God gave me a Vision to prepare a place for Worship and Empowerment. A center to provide education, job training, addiction, family, and marital counseling is needed!
Outreaching to the Community with sharing the Gospel.
